Installing NexusCompute on Windows

No PowerShell. No Node.js to install. Just run the installer and you're earning in under 5 minutes.

Click the button below to download the Windows installer. It works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).

What's included

The installer bundles everything it needs — no Node.js, no PowerShell setup scripts, no external dependencies to manage. Ollama (for AI model inference) is downloaded automatically in the background on first launch if it isn't already installed.

Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded NexusCompute-Agent-Setup.exe file and follow the short installer wizard. It installs the app and adds a Start Menu shortcut.

This direct-download build is not yet code signed. Windows may show “Windows protected your PC.” Confirm the installer came from this page, select More info, then Run anyway.

No admin rights needed

The installer runs in user mode — it doesn't need Administrator privileges and won't affect other users on the machine.

Enter your credentials in the setup window

On first launch a small setup window appears. You'll need three things from your provider dashboard:

API Key

Create one in your dashboard → API Keys. It starts with sk-nx-…

Listing ID(s)

The ID(s) of the listing(s) you published. Shown on your dashboard.

Click Connect this machine. The app validates your credentials and saves them securely in your Windows user profile.

It's running — look for the dot in your system tray

After setup the app minimises to the system tray (bottom-right of the taskbar). A coloured dot shows your status at a glance.

The menu shows jobs served today, today's earnings, and a Start at login toggle so the agent starts automatically when you log in to Windows.

AI inference starts automatically

Ollama is downloaded and started in the background on first launch. Once it's ready the agent begins processing AI jobs and you start earning — no extra steps required.

Common issues on Windows

Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer

Confirm the installer came from this page, then select "More info" and "Run anyway." This warning is expected until NexusCompute obtains Windows code signing.

Tray icon is amber for more than a minute

The app may be downloading Ollama in the background (especially on the first launch). Wait a few minutes — it will turn green once everything is ready.

API key rejected

Make sure you're using a NexusCompute API key (starts with sk-nx-). Create one in your dashboard under API Keys.

Listing not found

Make sure you've published a listing on the NexusCompute website first. The Listing ID appears on your provider dashboard after publishing.

No jobs after 24 hours

This is normal when first joining — demand builds over time. Check the tray dot is green and your listing is marked Available on your dashboard.
