Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded file (nexuscompute-setup.exe) and follow the on-screen prompts. Accept the default settings — there's nothing you need to change.
- 1Click "Next" on the welcome screen
- 2Leave the install location as-is, click "Next"
- 3Check "Launch NexusCompute at startup" (recommended)
- 4Click "Install" and wait about 30 seconds
- 5Click "Finish" — the app will open automatically
Allow through Windows Firewall
Windows Firewall will ask if NexusCompute can communicate on the network. You need to allow this so your computer can receive and send jobs.
What does this permission do?
When the Firewall dialog appears, check both Private networks and Public networks, then click "Allow access".
Dialog didn't appear?
Sign in and link your account
When the NexusCompute app opens, sign in with the same email address you used to register on this website. This links the agent to your provider account.
Having trouble signing in?
# Open a Command Prompt and run: nexuscompute --auth --email your@email.com
This opens the browser sign-in page if the app doesn't launch automatically.
Verify the agent is running
Look for the NexusCompute icon in your system tray (the hidden icons area near the clock in the bottom-right corner of your screen).
You're live! 🎉
Common issues
The icon doesn't appear in the system tray
Search for "NexusCompute" in the Start menu and launch it manually. You can also check "Show hidden icons" in the system tray overflow.
Antivirus flagged the installer
Some antivirus software flags new applications. Add NexusCompute to your antivirus whitelist, or temporarily disable real-time protection during installation only.
It says 'account not found' when signing in
Make sure you've completed the setup wizard on the NexusCompute website first. Your provider account needs to be registered before the agent can link to it.
No jobs after 24 hours
This is normal when first joining — demand builds over time. Verify the icon is green during your idle hours. You can also check your listing on the provider dashboard.
